CBA cuts flagship home loan by 40pts

The move might trigger for wider rate cuts from other lenders. 

This could be the lowest basic variable rate a bank has offered! CBA's variable home loans are down to 2.29%.  

This rate however, will only be offered to customer with a large deposit (< 70%LVR).

Home loans rule tightened by APRA

While loan rates remain low, they will be more difficult to access for people highly leveraged. 

Borrowers will soon be assessed at 3.0 points above the product rate instead of 2.5. 

Whilst opinions on the changes are split. This could be good news for mid-long term buyers. A move that will help reinforce the stability of the property market and financial system.
